\"istock_000009146344xsmall\"When you get a call back about a job interview the first thing you should feel is excitement, the company you have applied to obviously thinks your worth taking the time to talk to.<\/p>\n

Your resume has already impressed them; however you have to remember you could be on a long list of applicants with similar work experience, skills and qualifications.<\/p>\n

You need to stand out to the interviewers as the best candidate, so polishing up your interview technique is a good idea. A nice smile and firm handshake is not going to do the trick.<\/p>\n

Interview questions:<\/p>\n

Why do you want a new job? Was there a problem with your old one?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t say:\u00a0 I hated my boss and was expected to be nice to customers even if they we\u2019re idiots.<\/p>\n

Do say: \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 I enjoyed my job and went as far as I could, I\u2019m looking for new challenges and to expand on what I\u2019ve already learned.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us what your strengths are?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t say:\u00a0 I\u2019m good at drinking games and can really improve your after work social life.<\/p>\n

Do say: \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 I work well in a team and am can also head up projects alone. I have a good eye for details which has helped me in the past such as when…<\/p>\n

Can you tell us your biggest weakness?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t say:\u00a0 I find it hard to get up for work in time, other people annoy me and deadlines stress me out.<\/p>\n

Do say:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Occasionally I find it difficult when people on my team can\u2019t keep up with me, however I have done a team working course and learnt a lot.<\/p>\n

Can you give us a good reason to hire you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t say:\u00a0 I\u2019m broke and I\u2019m getting evicted so could really use the cash.<\/p>\n
