\"\"We have put together a list of some of the labor laws of New York State for you.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The current minimum wage for covered employees in the State of New York is $7.15 per hour. There is a list of exceptions to this covered minimum wage law.
\n\u2022 If a covered employee is required to work overtime, they must be paid one and a half times their normal hourly rate.
\n\u2022 A one hour meal period or break time must be provided to employees who work more than six hours, an employer is not required to pay for that time.
\n\u2022 The number of hours a day that an employee can be asked to work is not restricted unless the employee is under the age of 18.
\n\u2022 Employers can require employees to wear uniform.
\n\u2022 Employers are not required to pay an employee for sick time or vacation time.
\n\u2022 Employers have the right to fire an employee at any time as New York State is an \u2018employment at will\u2019 state.<\/p>\n
